Analysis of Present Crisis (M Myoo Myint)

M Myoo Myint
We made full support for the decision of NLD candidates, not to attend today parliamentary session in Burma!
Most of the analyst said, “Insisting to change the word ‘safe guard’ to ‘respect’ could probably mean the start of U-turn from current military dominated parliament in Burma”.
In any democratic society, no one is allowed to take the parliamentary seat without contesting and representing respective constituency. Analysts argued that how soldiers exercise the duties and responsibilities of MPs democratically in line with their current roles in the military. Another question for researchers is who will they represent for? Certainly they are not representing for the public. Analysts said it is not acceptable and it should be changed. 2008 constitution needs to be amended in Burma.
Taking 25% of parliamentary seats by military without contesting is not democratic and it is unacceptable internationally. Moreover, changing of military MPs in the today parliamentary session shows the sign of military involvement in the parliament.
Public have real power to govern the country, not the government or the military in today world. If the public do not want their MPs, they have to give up their seats and go. MPs represent the public and they have to do accordingly with the wishes of the majority of the public.
In today changing world, the military back government and their supportive MPs should aware of real change for democracy in Burma. Even in today EU decision, they suspend the sanctions instead of lifting entire sanctions because they can be reimposed if Burma turns in the wrong direction.
Military backed government need to be honest with real change in Burma; otherwise unforeseen challenges will come out from the public and they can be thrown down with ugly history. Digital history cannot be changed in today world. If they respect the children, they should leave the history beautifully in today rapid changing world.
In the current by-election, majority of the public want NLD to represent for them. Majority of our public showed that they do not want military back USDP candidates in the parliament. It is clear that majority of our public want to amend the 2008 constitution which was not accepted by our public.
NLD promised to challenge to amend the 2008 constitution. MPs don’t need to safe guard the constitution; they need to safe guard the true wills of the public with respect.
We made full support for the decision of NLD candidates, not to attend today parliamentary session in Burma.
