A member of our family won “National literary
Award” for (2006).
U Win Kyi (saya Win Chit) won this award for his book on timber technology.
U Win Kyi was born in1945 inTaungThar,Myingyan district.
He graduated as B.Sc(Hons) in Physics from Mandalay University.
He served as demonstrator in Physics Dept. in Rangoon University in 1967.
In the same year, he transferred to Forest Dept. as Researcher.
In 1983, he got M.Sc (Forestry & Forest Products) from (Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, USA).
In 1993, he transferred to University of Forestry as Associate Professor.
At present, he is serving as Rector in the same University.
In 2005, he was awarded (State Outstanding Manangement, 1st Class).
He published 32 Research Papers in Forestry & Forest Products.
At present, he is living in University of Forestry Campus with his family.
At present, he is writing research articles in Myanmar Timber Digest.
His research work in fuel saving oven is a ” success” in market.
