Loss of essence of a university.

On
the surface the university is alive with welcome ceremony, ceremony of
homage to teachers, entertainments and sports. Appearance can deceive.
The happy appearance implies the death
of the university. True, entertainments and sport tournaments are part
of campus life. But they are a small part. The bigger part is composed
of academic activities. University is the place where knowledge is
searched for and constructed, where freedom of thought blooms. where
ideas flow freely, where academic freedom flowers, where student union
leads the activities, and where discrimination on the grounds of race,
gender, religion , social class and material wealth is dead.
