We will not forgive!
Kachin internally displace people on the run
Pray for the Kachin people.
THINK and DO whatever you think would be beneficial to free the Kachin and the oppressed( Muslims, Rohingyas, Burmese peasants, farmers, Shan, Karen, etc...) of Burma.
Having the spirit to fight any forms of injustice is the only condition to unite all of us regardless of where you live. Stop bullshitting about forgiveness and tolerance of "Burmese invasion" ( in the disguise of Peace, cease-fire). Given brutally violent human history , I don't think human being is designed to forgive each other.
That I can forgive you for your crimes is just a FAKE and a mere moral masturbation with no substance. Indeed, minimum level of wrongdoings could be forgiven.
But can you forgive the most radical crimes as happened/happening in North Korea, Germany under Hitler, Russia under Stalin? We the majority of Kachins , as Christians, grew up with this Christian teaching that "love your neighbour as yourself".
This imposes an impossible moral task on us to carry out among monstrous neighbour- Burma and China. Can Kachin love these monstrous neighbors as themselves? Asking kachin victims of atrocities committed by Burmese army to forgive their perpetrators is an insult to them without understanding their situation.
The Kachin resistance itself speaks volumes that we cannot and will never forgive any forms of injustice and crimes committed against us. I believe such resistance is the only way to advance our civilization and correct inherent violence of human mind. Forgiveness itself has its own limitations. We have to admit that.
We don't want to be dragged into the abyss of forgiveness and suffer another hundred years. As zizek rightly points out human memory cannot afford to keep unbearably painful experiences for a long time. We will try to forget but not forgive.
If you think my view is too extreme, ask yourself first how you would feel were you in our situation and go ask so-called civilized nations such as the US, UK, etc.. to forgive and love terrorists instead of crushing them for whatever (political, security or economic) reasons.
